Biography
Manuel Torralba Quevedo (Barcelona, 2001) is a conductor, composer and pianist — someone who has spent his life chasing the moment a gesture turns into sound. He trained in piano at the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, in conducting at ESMUC, and in composition at the Conservatori del Liceu, before crossing the Atlantic for graduate study with a teaching assistantship at Florida State University, and now sets off for a master’s in orchestral conducting at the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Budapest. Along the way he has sharpened his craft in courses and competitions from Estoril to Aosta, Tenerife, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Bulgaria — with the Cantelli and International Wind Orchestra competitions still ahead of him.
